Welcome to my travel blog. Please sit back, relax and join me on my adventure. Before we start, let me answer a couple of your questions.

 What is Wanderlust?

To understand the term, you must familiarize yourself with the calling of the unknown. You have to recognize the itching of your feet longing for new ground. Wanderlust is when you embrace the smell of recycled air on your fourth connecting flight, wedged elbow-to-elbow between strangers. Wanderlust is the ache of a journey about to begin. Wanderlust erases the obscure lines on the map and replaces them with compassionate understanding. Do you wanderlust? If you do, you are in the right place.

Who am I?

My life can fit inside of a rolling backpack. I am 23 years old. I studied journalism, women’s studies and sociology in college. I am a published writer. Travel is my chosen lifestyle. I am a ‘girly-girl,” until the end, which makes fitting all of my stuff in one bag all the more interesting. I encourage personal rebellion, cultural understanding through tourism and wild adventure. In the end, all we have is our story—this is mine.

What am I doing?

This is my hobby and I am doing what I love, traveling and writing. I departed on May 1, 2012 to embark on a journey around Western Europe. I cannot promise normality or prudence, but I can promise you a damn good story. Life is a great thing, but it is even better uncensored. My motto, “Follow your truth, wherever it may lead you.” I invite you to join me on my journey.

Why am I doing this?

There is nothing more inspiring (or scary) than making the giant leap into the darkness to conquer your dreams. I want to experience the world in all of its glory, and then I want to tell you about it. I guess that means I kiss and tell—consider yourself warned.

We spend our lives working to acquire ‘stuff’ we are told we need, then we realize years later that we need to downsize because our lifestyle is not maintainable. I want to live my life simply, efficiently, and sustainably—without sacrificing quality or fabulousness. When I do settle in one location, it will be in a modern house with solar panels, a walk-in closet and a hookup for my Nissan Leaf.  Just saying.

I love what I do. I want others to love what they do. Need I say more?

Travel encourages growth, learning, compassion, character and courage. I want to be a better human being and a world citizen.
